Both girls were surprised to find Pecking Patty sitting on a straw bale looking at them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIs that Pecking Patty?\u201d April whispers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYes, be careful, she pecks if you try to take her eggs,\u201d Haddie says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPecks?\u201d April gets behind Haddie and watches her walk closer and closer to Pecking Patty.\u2014April\u2019s never been this close to any chicken before and is holding her breath as they get closer.
